Jonathan Nelson
Stellar Award winning songwriter Jonathan Nelson is a young recording artist following in the huge footseps of gospel music legends Donald Lawrence and Fred Hammond. As a modern day hymn writer, he has taken the urban praise and worship vibe of Hammond and merged it with the sophisticated charm of choirmaster Lawrence to create his own unique synthesis of gospel that crosses across racial and cultural divides. In the last few years, Nelson’s songs such as “The Struggle is Over” which was #1 on Billboard’s gospel chart for a dozen weeks; “Healed”; “The Right Place” and “Praise is My Weapon” have become huge gospel radio smashes.
